    Develop the skills necessary for an accelerated transition into one of our many Northern California 911 Divisions (Contra Costa, San Mateo, Santa Clara, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Yolo, Placer, San Francisco, and more!) by working aboard BLS, CCT Paramedic, and CCT Nurse units!

    REQUIRED DOCUMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

    *Certifications are not mandatory at the time of application. However, if an offer of employment is made, candidate will be required to obtain the following before our New Hire Academy begins. 

    • High School Diploma or Equivalent
    • CA State EMT Card
    • CA Driver’s License
    • CA Ambulance Driver’s License
    • Medical Examiner’s Certificate
    • American Heart Association BLS Card
    • Driving Record in compliance with AMR's Safety & Driving policy

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Maintains a high degree of professionalism and provides exemplary customer service in all situations, while laser-focused on patient care. Maintains a cooperative working relationship with patients and allied healthcare/public safety personnel.
    • Appropriately operates medical equipment (such as gurneys, airway equipment/airway bags, IVs, splints, bandages, medications, etc.) in rendering proper emergency medical treatment to patients. Reads medication/prescription labels and directions for usage in a quick, accurate, and expedient manner. Discerns deviations/changes in eye/skin coloration due to patient's condition and to the treatment given.
    • Maintains complete and accurate documentation of patient assessment, statistical and billing information, treatment and services rendered, etc. as applicable to the system/operation assigned.
    • Communicates verbally with patients, family members, significant others, and bystanders in various environments. Communicates with dispatcher and EMS providers via phone or radio.
    • Operates a company vehicle in accordance with state requirements and our company policy regarding safe practices. Quickly and safely locates addresses using maps, street signs, address numbers, and knowledge of number systems & street layouts.
    • Ensures that unit remains in a state of readiness in terms of mechanical reliability, medical supply and equipment, cleanliness and appearance standards. Immediately reports any discrepancies in vehicle or equipment standards that could compromise the unit’s ability to complete a call. Appropriately operates communications equipment, cleaning equipment, office equipment, and tools. 
    • Adheres to and complies with medical treatment protocols, information systems security policies, and company policies & procedures. Maintains awareness of any changes in system components and/or company policy. Attends all mandatory trainings/in-services. Reports all problems and unusual occurrences immediately to the appropriate Supervisor or Manager.
    • Maintains the level and type of certifications consistent with performing tasks in the system to which assigned. Maintains thorough familiarity with treatment protocols, response requirements and quality assurance procedures in system in which assigned.
    • Maintains a professional appearance by adhering to hygiene and uniforms standards.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
